Sandy Lindblom

Postpartum Doula, Lactation Educator

My passion is for helping families after the birth of a baby.

The word "Doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves". A Postpartum Doula is a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support during the postpartum period.

Unlike a Nanny, I am there to Mother the Mother, so that she can Mother her child.  My support may include tending the baby, so that Mom can catch up on much needed rest.  Help with household chores.  Run errands. Get caught up on laundry. Prepare meals.  All the things that can make it challenging for us to bond with our baby.

Between fluctuating hormones, lack of sleep and the changes in the dynamic with our significant other, becoming a new parent can be overwhelming. My job as a Postpartum Doula is to listen, validate and reassure that all of these feelings are normal. Encouraging new parents that this is a time of major transition and they will grow into their new role.

Our modern society has gotten so far from the Village mentality. It is my desire to bring that back... one family at a time
